A Big Decision for US!!

It's been so long since we posted. We've been talking and talking and talking about when to get our doll baby baptised. We know she wont be baptised when get her over in China. And we don't want to risk flying all the way back here to the USA (America's the best!). So we've decided to have her baptised when were over in China!!! We can't wait. Dress her all up in white and show her new clean soul off.

We want to do a traditional in the river baptism - like Christ did in the river Jordan. I think there is a big yellow river in China. Maybe we could just do it there. We don't want to do it in Hong Kong because it used to be owned by the British and we seperated from them back in the 1700's - remember 1776? So if anyone knows a good traditional baptism place with Christian running it, please let us know. In a pinch we could just do it at the Red Swan's pool. But we would rather one in a river.

Yes, better safe than sorry. Wash away her sins before she brings them over here, because she's probably got lots. And you'll probably want to have it redone when you get back, in case it didn't take. I mean, do the Holy Sacraments *really* work over there...?

It's certainly never too early to plan on saving our daughters' souls. I, too, worry that the baptism might not 'take' over there, and I also worry that it will be wiped out when you visit all of those monastic voodoo temples. We've also considered bringing our pastor along with us to keep us safe and closer to our God. What do y'all think?

Praise Be His Name!

I think you all are NUTS

I pray to baby Jesus about this very thing all the TIME, and I have to be frank with you'all - I really think you have to bring your own pastor if you want to save this baby's immortal soul. I just don't think a non-American pastor could do the same job, and since this is the Most Important Job, well....better to bring an American-made man of God to do the job right!

Wow, this idea is Heaven-sent. I never would have came up with this idea on my own. Your blog is really helping me plan my own trip to China. I plan to ask Preacher Dick about it in my next prayer meeting.

Wow, at first I thought your blog was a joke, are you people for real!! it makes me sick reading it............

We're sick?! What about all of those horrid heathens who get their new babies blessed in the buddist temple? Is original sin not enough, they have to further damn their chidren to hell before they can get back to our red white and blue heaven and have her baptised properly! I for one will NOT be letting some heathen monk "bless" my baby!

Please remember a few things...
Jesus was not American and every child is the same in Gods eyes...so get real and stop being so holier than thou!!!!! Every child has origianl sin there are not different levels .
You guys need to read your scriptures better

I'm pretty sure my kid didn't have any original sin. I think that's only something Christians come with.

UrbanB... great point! I am thinking the sinning AFTER original sin is the more fun sinning. Heck! You can have a down right great time sinning like crazy!

Sounds better to me, anyway.

The wise Mr. William Joel said it best - "I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints; the sinners are much more fun."

Baptism in a glass of water? Yes, it's true!

According to scientists at a research facility in San Pedro, you CAN baptize your China baby with a bottle of water. And here's the best part—you can do it with simple tap water! Yes, it’s true! Holy water be damned. Avian, Smart Water, virtually any commercial brand works just as well. It's true! Studies show that most employees of water bottling companies invoke the name of Christ several times a day (“Goddam, these bottles are hard to open!” is heard quite often), so there's plenty of "God" in the bottled water we consume so heartily.

Even the Roman Catholic Church agrees. Pope Benedict XXLL was quoted as saying, “Yes, yes, it’s all the same as far as we’re concerned. Just leave your money in the basket on your way out, sinners.”

Now your really getting me excited. So if we can't baptize baby Christiana in the Yellow River or the White Swan hotel swimin pool, we can use bottled water! Is anyone else planning on doing this?

How very sad that you dont respect you new babies original culture and histry. Are you also going to wipe off any of her individuality and personality at the same time? I feel sad for her having to grow up with such biggots and racists as parents. Also you dont "dip" a child in a river when she is only tiny, as she will prob get sick from the disease in the water, thats not only in China, but anywhere really. Get a grip!!!
